The Robert Mondavi Winery Merlot represents this pioneering spirit, showcasing the rich, velvety potential of the varietal in California's premier growing regions. Sourced primarily from the clay-loam soils of Napa Valley, including the famed Oakville district, this wine benefits from warm sunny days tempered by cool evening breezes and morning fog. The blend typically incorporates small percentages of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc to enhance structure and aromatic complexity. Traditionally aged in French oak barrels, the wine develops a harmonious balance of lush black cherry, plum, and subtle herbal notes, framed by soft, supple tannins that define the classic Mondavi style.

Den visionære vinmager Robert Mondavi grundlagde Robert Mondavi Winery i Oakville i 1966 med en klar ambition: at skabe vine i Napa Valley, som kunne måle sig med verdens ypperste vinhuse.
