Robert Mondavi, a visionary who revolutionized the global perception of California winemaking, founded his namesake winery in 1966 with the dream of creating wines that could stand alongside Europe's finest. The Reserve Chardonnay is a testament to this pursuit of excellence, primarily sourcing fruit from the cool, wind-swept vineyards of Carneros in southern Napa Valley. Here, the persistent morning fog and cooling breezes from the San Pablo Bay slow ripening, allowing the Chardonnay grapes to develop deep, concentrated flavors while retaining a vibrant, natural acidity. Crafted using traditional Burgundian techniques, the wine undergoes barrel fermentation and extensive aging on its fine lees with regular stirring in French oak barrels. This meticulous process yields a sophisticated white wine defined by its rich, creamy texture, balanced by bright citrus, crisp green apple, and complex notes of toasted brioche, hazelnut, and vanilla.

Den visionære vinmager Robert Mondavi grundlagde Robert Mondavi Winery i Oakville i 1966 med en klar ambition: at skabe vine i Napa Valley, som kunne måle sig med verdens ypperste vinhuse.
