🍾 About the Producer
Established in 1820 when Giuseppe Sarotto settled in Neviglie, Azienda Agricola Roberto Sarotto represents generations of viticultural dedication across Piedmont's Langhe, Roero, and Monferrato hills. Following revitalization by enologist Roberto Sarotto and his wife Aurora in the 1980s and 1990s, the estate expanded to encompass prime vineyard parcels throughout Barolo, Barbaresco, Neive, and Gavi. The diverse terroir combines calcareous marls, sandstone, and clay across sun-exposed slopes, tempered by sub-Alpine breezes that promote optimal phenolic development. Viticulture prioritizes sustainability and non-invasive canopy and soil stewardship to support indigenous biodiversity. Winemaking harmonizes regional heritage with modern technical rigor, employing temperature-controlled stainless steel fermentation followed by maturation in French oak barriques and large Slavonian oak casks—including their record-holding giant cask, Ai Fondatori. Renowned benchmark bottlings include their expressive Barolo Audace, single-cru Barolo Bergera-Pezzole, Barbaresco Gaia Principe, and the structured Langhe Rosso Enrico I°.
