Typically best enjoyed 3–10 years from vintage release, though its exceptional balance and characteristic residual sugar allow it to age gracefully far longer than standard regional blends.

✨ wine.spec_sheet

In the rolling, sun-drenched hills of Rorschwihr, Domaine Rolly Gassmann crafts an Edelzwicker that elevates the historic Alsatian category. Historically, 'Edelzwicker'—meaning 'noble blend'—was the pride of Alsatian taverns, representing a harmonious marriage of the region's traditional white grape varieties. While many modern examples are light and simple, Rolly Gassmann treats this blend with the utmost respect. Sourced from clay-limestone soils that impart a distinct mineral depth, the grapes are harvested by hand and fermented using indigenous yeasts. True to the estate's signature style, the wine is allowed a slow, patient maturation in the cellar, resulting in a texturally rich, off-dry masterpiece. It weaves together the aromatic lift of Alsace's noble varieties with structural precision, offering a beautifully balanced, historically rooted expression of the region.

🍾 wine.about_producer

Established in 1967 through the union of two historic winemaking families with roots in Rorschwihr dating back to 1611 and 1676, Domaine Rolly Gassmann is a benchmark of Alsatian viticulture. Located in the picturesque village of Rorschwihr, Alsace, France, the estate is guided by Pierre Gassmann, who maintains a steadfast commitment to biodynamic principles and meticulous hand-harvesting. The domaine is globally revered for its patient approach to winemaking, utilizing massive cellar capacities to age wines for years—sometimes decades—before commercial release. This philosophy yields remarkably complex, texturally rich white wines, most notably their late-harvest Vendanges Tardives and S lection de Grains Nobles, as well as terroir-specific expressions of Riesling, Gewurztraminer, and Pinot Gris from prized parcels like Kappelweg, Silberberg, and Oberer Weingarten.
