Hailing from the historic Silberberg lieu-dit in Rorschwihr, this Sélection de Grains Nobles is a monument to Alsatian patience and terroir. The Silberberg vineyard is renowned for its complex marly-limestone soils, which impart a profound mineral tension and vibrant acidity to the grapes. To produce a Sélection de Grains Nobles, the estate relies on successive manual passages through the vineyard to harvest only individual berries heavily affected by noble rot (Botrytis cinerea). Rolly Gassmann's signature approach of extended cellar aging before release allows this incredibly concentrated sweet wine to develop extraordinary aromatic complexity, balancing opulent notes of candied citrus, honey, and exotic spices with the signature petrol and mineral undertones of aged Riesling.
