Founded in 1877 by cousins Ilario and Leopoldo Ruffino in Pontassieve, Ruffino is one of Tuscany's most storied estates, once appointed as the official wine purveyor to the Italian Royal Family. The 'Gran Sigillo' (meaning Great Seal) pays homage to this prestigious history. This red blend is crafted to capture the classic, approachable spirit of Tuscan winemaking, traditionally blending the region's signature Sangiovese with complementary red varieties. Grown on the rolling, sun-drenched hillsides of Tuscany, the grapes benefit from clay-limestone soils that impart both structure and bright acidity. Vinified with an emphasis on preserving fresh fruit aromas, the wine undergoes traditional fermentation and light aging, resulting in a vibrant profile defined by red cherries, dried herbs, and subtle earthy undertones.
