Founded in Pontassieve in 1877 by cousins Ilario and Leopoldo Ruffino, the house of Ruffino quickly established itself as a benchmark of Tuscan winemaking, famously becoming the official supplier to the Italian Royal Family in 1890. Ruffino's Chianti Superiore represents a historic dedication to elevating the everyday Tuscan red. Sourced from selected vineyards across the Chianti region, this wine is crafted primarily from Sangiovese, complemented by traditional local blending partners. The 'Superiore' designation mandates stricter production standards than standard Chianti, including lower vineyard yields and longer aging. Fermented and aged primarily in stainless steel and concrete to preserve its bright, fruit-forward character, the wine showcases the classic clay and limestone terroir of Tuscany, delivering vibrant notes of red cherry, violet, and a touch of earthiness.

Ruffino blev grundlagt i 1877 i Pontassieve nær Firenze af fætrene Ilario og Leopoldo Ruffino og har siden udviklet sig til en af de mest ikoniske ambassadører for toscansk vinavl.
