Ruffino, established in 1877 by cousins Ilario and Leopoldo Ruffino, is one of Tuscany's most historic and revered wine houses. While legendary for its Chianti, Ruffino introduced Libaio to showcase the vibrant potential of white varietals in a region traditionally dominated by Sangiovese. Sourced from selected hillside vineyards across Tuscany, Libaio is a contemporary, unoaked expression of Chardonnay. Fermented entirely in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and aged briefly on its fine lees, it preserves the grape's natural crispness, offering bright notes of golden apple, citrus, and meadow flowers. The name 'Libaio' evokes the breezy, sun-drenched Tuscan landscape, capturing a lighter, refreshing side of the region's winemaking heritage.

Founded in 1877 by cousins Ilario and Leopoldo Ruffino in the historic town of Pontassieve near Florence, Ruffino is one of Tuscany's most iconic and enduring wine estates. Driven by a commitment to capturing the true essence of Italian terroir, the house gained early international acclaim, famously becoming the official supplier to the Italian royal family. Today, Ruffino is celebrated for its benchmark Chianti Classico expressions, most notably the legendary Riserva Ducale and Riserva Ducale Oro, alongside acclaimed Super Tuscans like Modus and exceptional Brunello di Montalcino from their Greppone Mazzi estate. By balancing time-honored Tuscan traditions with modern, sustainable viticulture, Ruffino continues to craft a diverse portfolio of elegant reds, crisp whites, and expressive rosés.
