β¨ Technical Specifications
Crafted by the historic Santa Margherita estate, the '52' Brut is a tribute to the year 1952, when the winery first began championing the sparkling potential of the steep, sun-drenched hills of Valdobbiadene. Long before Prosecco achieved its global fame, Santa Margherita recognized that the Glera grape grown in these morainic, clay-limestone soils could yield sparkling wines of immense elegance and aromatic complexity. Made using the traditional Charmat-Martinotti method to preserve the grape's natural freshness, this Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG showcases a refined bouquet of peach, green apple, and white flowers, supported by a fine, persistent perlage that captures the vibrant spirit of its Venetian heritage.
πΎ About the Producer
Founded in 1935 by Count Gaetano Marzotto, Santa Margherita began as an ambitious agricultural revitalization project based in Fossalta di Portogruaro and has since evolved into one of Italy's most iconic and internationally acclaimed wine estates. The winery revolutionized global wine culture in 1961 when it pioneered the white vinification of pink-skinned Pinot Grigio grapes in the Adige Valley, creating a crisp, fresh, and aromatic style that redefined Italian white wine. Today, Santa Margherita curates prime vineyards across Italy's most celebrated terroirs, including Alto Adige, Valdobbiadene, Tuscany, and Lombardy. Guided by a deep dedication to sustainability, precision, and regional authenticity, the estate is renowned for its benchmark Pinot Grigio, elegant Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore sparkling wines, refined Chianti Classico reds, and vibrant rosΓ©s.
