✨ Technical Specifications
Hailing from the wind-swept Bellarine Peninsula in Victoria, the Scotchmans Hill Chardonnay is a benchmark expression of cool-climate Australian winemaking. The vineyards are heavily influenced by the maritime breezes of Port Phillip Bay, which moderate temperatures and allow for a long, slow ripening period. Grown on ancient black volcanic soils over limestone, the grapes develop intense flavor concentration balanced by a vibrant, flinty minerality. Winemaker Robin Brockett employs traditional Burgundian techniques, including wild fermentation in French oak barriques and regular lees stirring (battonage). This process imparts a creamy texture and complex notes of toasted brioche, hazelnut, and white peach, all framed by a crisp, citrus-driven acidity that reflects the unique coastal terroir of Geelong.

Guided by long-tenured chief winemaker Robin Brockett, the winery focuses on minimal intervention and precision viticulture to reflect authentic regional terroir. Scotchmans Hill is renowned for its estate-grown, elegant Pinot Noir, complex Chardonnay, cool-climate Shiraz, and its prestige Cornelius single-vineyard collection.
