Spier's 5.5% Chenin Blanc is a low-alcohol white wine produced in the Coastal Region of South Africa. Made from 100% Chenin Blanc, this wine is specifically crafted to offer a lighter style with a lower alcohol by volume of 5.5%. The grapes are sourced from vineyards across the Coastal Region, where diverse soils and maritime breezes help retain natural acidity. Vinification occurs entirely in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve the primary fruit characteristics of crisp apple, pear, and citrus, avoiding any oak contact to maintain a clean, fresh profile.

Established in 1692, Spier is one of South Africa's oldest and most historic wine farms, located along the Eerste River in the heart of the Stellenbosch region. Under the stewardship of the Enthoven family since 1993, the estate marries its rich heritage with a progressive commitment to regenerative farming, biodiversity, and organic practices. Spier is celebrated for its diverse portfolio of expressive wines, most notably its acclaimed '21 Gables' range, which pays homage to the farm's historic Cape Dutch architectural heritage through exceptional single-varietal Chenin Blanc, Pinotage, and Cabernet Sauvignon. With a winemaking philosophy centered on minimal intervention, Spier consistently crafts elegant, terroir-driven wines that capture the unique maritime-influenced climate of the Coastal Region.
