Spier Creative Block 2 is a white Bordeaux-style blend produced in the Coastal Region of South Africa. The blend typically consists of Sauvignon Blanc (approximately 85% to 90%) and Sémillon (approximately 10% to 15%). Grapes are sourced from cooler maritime-influenced vineyards within the Coastal Region, which helps retain natural acidity. The Sauvignon Blanc is generally fermented in stainless steel to preserve fresh, herbaceous, and tropical fruit characters, while a portion of the Sémillon may undergo fermentation or aging in French oak barrels to add texture, weight, and complexity to the final blend.

🍾 wine.about_producer

Established in 1692, Spier is one of South Africa's oldest and most historic wine farms, located along the Eerste River in the heart of the Stellenbosch region. Under the stewardship of the Enthoven family since 1993, the estate marries its rich heritage with a progressive commitment to regenerative farming, biodiversity, and organic practices. Spier is celebrated for its diverse portfolio of expressive wines, most notably its acclaimed '21 Gables' range, which pays homage to the farm's historic Cape Dutch architectural heritage through exceptional single-varietal Chenin Blanc, Pinotage, and Cabernet Sauvignon. With a winemaking philosophy centered on minimal intervention, Spier consistently crafts elegant, terroir-driven wines that capture the unique maritime-influenced climate of the Coastal Region.
