Crafted from grapes grown in selected vineyards across the Western Cape, this 2025 vintage captures the vibrant essence of South Africa's signature white grape, Chenin Blanc—historically known as 'Steen'. The coastal breezes and diverse soils of granite and decomposed shale provide a rich canvas for the vines. In 2025, a warm growing season tempered by cool maritime winds allowed the grapes to develop a perfect balance of crisp acidity and rich tropical fruit flavors. Fermented primarily in stainless steel tanks and aged briefly on its fine lees, this wine avoids heavy oak influence, preserving the pure, unadulterated expression of guava, green apple, and white peach.

Established in 1692, Spier is one of South Africa's oldest and most historic wine farms, located along the Eerste River in the heart of the Stellenbosch region. Under the stewardship of the Enthoven family since 1993, the estate marries its rich heritage with a progressive commitment to regenerative farming, biodiversity, and organic practices. Spier is celebrated for its diverse portfolio of expressive wines, most notably its acclaimed '21 Gables' range, which pays homage to the farm's historic Cape Dutch architectural heritage through exceptional single-varietal Chenin Blanc, Pinotage, and Cabernet Sauvignon. With a winemaking philosophy centered on minimal intervention, Spier consistently crafts elegant, terroir-driven wines that capture the unique maritime-influenced climate of the Coastal Region.
