The Taittinger Collection was conceived in the late 1970s by Claude Taittinger, who sought to marry the fine art of winemaking with contemporary visual art. For the 1985 vintage, celebrated American pop artist Roy Lichtenstein was commissioned to design the bottle's protective outer sheath. Lichtenstein wrapped the bottle in his signature comic-book style, featuring Ben-Day dots and bold, graphic lines depicting a stylized landscape. Inside the artistic vessel lies an exceptional Millésimé Champagne, crafted only in outstanding years. It is sourced from Grand and Premier Cru vineyards, reflecting the house's signature elegance, dominated by Chardonnay's freshness and structured by Pinot Noir. The wine is aged for several years in Taittinger's historic Gallo-Roman chalk cellars before release, resulting in a complex, creamy, and deeply mineral masterpiece.
