✨ Technical Specifications

The pinnacle of Taittinger's art, Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs is a legendary prestige cuve that pays homage to the Counts of Champagne, particularly Thibaud IV, who mythically brought the ancestor of the Chardonnay grape back from the Crusades. Crafted exclusively from Chardonnay sourced from the five prestigious Grand Cru villages of the Cte des Blancs—Avize, Chouilly, Cramant, Mesnil-sur-Oger, and Oger—this wine represents the ultimate expression of noble chalk soils. A tiny portion (5%) of the blend is matured in oak casks to impart a subtle toasted complexity. This rare assortment case brings together three magnificent consecutive vintages—1998, 1999, and 2000—each aged for over a decade in the historic, UNESCO-listed Gallo-Roman chalk cellars (crayres) of Saint-Nicaise in Reims, offering a masterclass in the longevity, tension, and creamy texture of mature Chardonnay.

🍾 About the Producer

Tracing its foundations back to 1734 when the original house was established by Jacques Fourneaux, Champagne Taittinger took its modern identity in 1932 under the visionary leadership of Pierre Taittinger. Headquartered in Reims within the historic Champagne region of France, the family-owned house matures its finest cuvées inside UNESCO-listed Gallo-Roman chalk caves beneath the ancient Abbey of Saint-Nicaise. Taittinger is distinguished by its defining reliance on Chardonnay, crafting champagnes celebrated for their elegance, minerality, and delicate aromatics. The house's supreme expression is the iconic Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs, a benchmark vintage champagne produced exclusively from top Grand Cru vineyards in the Côte des Blancs.
