✨ Technical Specifications
Comtes de Champagne Rosé is a legendary prestige cuvée produced only in exceptional vintage years, representing the pinnacle of Taittinger's art. First created with the 1966 vintage, this rare rosé pays homage to the Counts of Champagne, particularly Thibaud IV, who according to legend brought back the ancestral vines of Chardonnay from the Crusades. Crafted using grapes exclusively sourced from Grand Cru vineyards, the blend marries the elegance of Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs with the structure of Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims. A defining feature of its exquisite salmon-pink hue and complex red-fruit profile is the addition of approximately 12% to 15% of still red Pinot Noir from the famous Grand Cru of Bouzy. The wine undergoes a slow, majestic maturation of up to a decade in the cool, silent depths of the house's UNESCO-listed Gallo-Roman chalk crayères, developing an extraordinary complexity, silky texture, and a delicate bead of bubbles that whispers of its noble heritage.
🍾 About the Producer
Tracing its foundations back to 1734 when the original house was established by Jacques Fourneaux, Champagne Taittinger took its modern identity in 1932 under the visionary leadership of Pierre Taittinger. Headquartered in Reims within the historic Champagne region of France, the family-owned house matures its finest cuvées inside UNESCO-listed Gallo-Roman chalk caves beneath the ancient Abbey of Saint-Nicaise. Taittinger is distinguished by its defining reliance on Chardonnay, crafting champagnes celebrated for their elegance, minerality, and delicate aromatics. The house's supreme expression is the iconic Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs, a benchmark vintage champagne produced exclusively from top Grand Cru vineyards in the Côte des Blancs.
