Talisker 30 Year Old is a pinnacle expression from the Isle of Skye's oldest operating distillery, capturing the wild, windswept spirit of its rugged coastal home. While younger Talisker expressions are famous for their fiery black pepper and intense peat smoke, three decades of slow maturation in refill American and European oak casks transform these maritime elements into something sublime and deeply complex. The legendary 2011 bottling showcases this evolution beautifully, marrying the distillery's signature sea-salt spray and gentle peat with elegant notes of beeswax, tropical fruits, warming spices, and a soft, lingering smoke. It represents a liquid history of Skye, shaped by the dramatic Cuillin hills and the salty Atlantic breezes that sweep through the Carbost distillery.

Talisker blev grundlagt i 1830 af brødrene Hugh og Kenneth MacAskill ved de vindblæste bredder af Loch Harport i Carbost og er det ældste aktive destilleri på Isle of Skye. Destilleriet er berømt for sit unikke destillationsapparat med svanehalsede wash stills og traditionelle, udendørs worm tubs (kondenseringskar), som tilfører råspritten en karakteristisk maritim og vulkansk intensitet.
