✨ Technical Specifications

Talisker's single malts bottled in the 1980s represent a golden era of distilling on the rugged, wind-swept Isle of Skye. Sourced from the distillery nestled on the shores of Loch Harport, these historic releases capture the raw, untamed essence of their maritime terroir. Distilled using Talisker's unique five-still configuration and condensed in traditional wooden worm tubs, the spirit retains an exceptionally oily, heavy texture. The peat used during this era imparted a distinctively rich, earthy smoke, which, when combined with decades of maturation and the coastal air, created a legendary profile of sea spray, sweet malt, and a trademark fiery black pepper finish. These vintage bottlings are highly coveted by collectors for their complexity and historical significance.

🍾 About the Producer

Founded in 1830 by brothers Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill on the windswept shores of Loch Harport in Carbost, Talisker is the oldest operating distillery on the Isle of Skye. The distillery is celebrated for its unique distillation setup, featuring swan-neck wash stills and traditional outdoor worm tubs, which impart a signature maritime and volcanic intensity to the new-make spirit. Today part of Diageo's Classic Malts portfolio, Talisker maintains an uncompromising dedication to crafting robust, peated single malt Scotch whiskies. Its flagship style is revered across the globe for its harmonious interplay of coastal salinity, rich peat smoke, dried fruit richness, and an unmistakable fiery black pepper finish.
