This expression utilizes a unique 'stone-spun' finishing process, where toasted American oak casks are spun to smooth out the wood's active interior, mimicking the relentless action of the sea. The result is a single malt that marries Talisker's signature maritime character—brimming with peat smoke, sea salt, and cracked black pepper—with a surprisingly creamy, sweet, and pear-like fruitiness. The Isle of Skye's rugged coastline, dramatic weather, and maritime climate heavily influence the spirit as it matures in warehouses right on the edge of Loch Harport, infusing it with an unmistakable coastal brine.

Founded in 1830 by brothers Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill on the windswept shores of Loch Harport in Carbost, Talisker is the oldest operating distillery on the Isle of Skye. The distillery is celebrated for its unique distillation setup, featuring swan-neck wash stills and traditional outdoor worm tubs, which impart a signature maritime and volcanic intensity to the new-make spirit.
