This cask-strength single malt pays homage to the Portuguese caravel ships that braved the open seas, mirroring Skye's own maritime heritage. In a bold stylistic departure, this whisky was finished in a combination of Ruby, White, and Tawny Port casks. This unique maturation marries Talisker's legendary coastal character—defined by intense peat smoke, brine, and a trademark cracked black pepper kick—with the rich, succulent sweetness of dark stone fruits, ripe berries, and warming spices. Founded in 1830 by brothers Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill on the windswept shores of Loch Harport in Carbost, Talisker is the oldest operating distillery on the Isle of Skye.
