Talisker's Distillers Edition represents a harmonious marriage between the rugged, windswept maritime character of the Isle of Skye and the sun-drenched sweetness of Andalusian sherry casks. This expression undergoes a double maturation process, finishing its aging in Amoroso sherry casks—a fortified wine style that imparts a rich, sweet, and nutty complexity. The traditional five-still distillation and wooden worm tubs at Talisker preserve an oily, full-bodied spirit, which beautifully integrates with the dried fruit and peat smoke notes. Local lore often speaks of the distillery's coastal warehouses, where the casks breathe in the salty sea air of Loch Harport, infusing the whisky with its signature maritime brine and fiery black pepper finish, now softened by the luscious influence of the Amoroso wood.

Talisker blev grundlagt i 1830 af brødrene Hugh og Kenneth MacAskill ved de vindblæste bredder af Loch Harport i Carbost og er det ældste aktive destilleri på Isle of Skye. Destilleriet er berømt for sit unikke destillationsapparat med svanehalsede wash stills og traditionelle, udendørs worm tubs (kondenseringskar), som tilfører råspritten en karakteristisk maritim og vulkansk intensitet.
