β¨ Technical Specifications
The Talisker Distillers Edition represents a masterful marriage of rugged maritime peat and Spanish wine heritage. After its initial maturation in traditional oak casks, this Isle of Skye single malt undergoes a secondary maturation in casks that previously held Amoroso sherryβa rich, sweetened style of Oloroso. This double maturation softens the distillery's legendary fiery, pepper-and-peat punch with layers of luscious dark fruit, cacao, and sweet malt. The result is a beautifully complex dram that captures both the wild, wind-swept coast of Skye and the warm, sun-drenched bodegas of Jerez.
πΎ About the Producer
Founded in 1830 by brothers Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill on the windswept shores of Loch Harport in Carbost, Talisker is the oldest operating distillery on the Isle of Skye. The distillery is celebrated for its unique distillation setup, featuring swan-neck wash stills and traditional outdoor worm tubs, which impart a signature maritime and volcanic intensity to the new-make spirit. Today part of Diageo's Classic Malts portfolio, Talisker maintains an uncompromising dedication to crafting robust, peated single malt Scotch whiskies. Its flagship style is revered across the globe for its harmonious interplay of coastal salinity, rich peat smoke, dried fruit richness, and an unmistakable fiery black pepper finish.
