This expression undergoes a double maturation process, finishing its aging in Amoroso sherry casks—a fortified wine style that imparts a rich, sweet, and nutty complexity. The traditional five-still distillation and wooden worm tubs at Talisker preserve an oily, full-bodied spirit, which beautifully integrates with the dried fruit and peat smoke notes. Founded in 1830 by brothers Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill on the windswept shores of Loch Harport in Carbost, Talisker is the oldest operating distillery on the Isle of Skye.
