Talisker's Distillers Edition represents a masterful marriage of rugged maritime peat and luscious Spanish sherry sweetness. Distilled on the wind-swept Isle of Skye, this expression undergoes a secondary maturation in specially selected Amoroso sherry casks. This double-maturation process softens the distillery's signature fiery, black-pepper kick and intense peat smoke, wrapping it in rich layers of dried dark fruits, cacao, and roasted nuts. The batch TD-S: 5CO, bottled in 2001, is a classic historic example of this style, where the wild, salt-sprayed coastal character of Skye is beautifully tamed by the sweet, velvety influence of the Andalusian casks.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in 1830 by brothers Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill on the windswept shores of Loch Harport in Carbost, Talisker is the oldest operating distillery on the Isle of Skye. The distillery is celebrated for its unique distillation setup, featuring swan-neck wash stills and traditional outdoor worm tubs, which impart a signature maritime and volcanic intensity to the new-make spirit.
