✨ Technical Specifications

The Talisker 25 Year Old Bottled in 2001 is a legendary release in the history of the Isle of Skye's oldest distillery. Distilled in the mid-1970s and matured for a quarter of a century in refill casks, this limited edition was bottled at a natural cask strength of 57.5% ABV, capturing the raw, untamed spirit of the Skye coastline before later annual releases were standardized at lower strengths. The maritime climate of Carbost deeply infuses the spirit during its long slumber, marrying Talisker's signature fiery black pepper and intense peat smoke with softened, elegant notes of wax, brine, dried fruits, and old oak. The distillery's traditional wooden worm tubs and unique U-shaped wash stills contribute to an incredibly oily, full-bodied texture that has made this specific 2001 bottling a holy grail for Scotch whisky collectors and connoisseurs.

🍾 About the Producer

Founded in 1830 by brothers Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill on the windswept shores of Loch Harport in Carbost, Talisker is the oldest operating distillery on the Isle of Skye. The distillery is celebrated for its unique distillation setup, featuring swan-neck wash stills and traditional outdoor worm tubs, which impart a signature maritime and volcanic intensity to the new-make spirit. Today part of Diageo's Classic Malts portfolio, Talisker maintains an uncompromising dedication to crafting robust, peated single malt Scotch whiskies. Its flagship style is revered across the globe for its harmonious interplay of coastal salinity, rich peat smoke, dried fruit richness, and an unmistakable fiery black pepper finish.
