Hailing from the rugged, wind-swept shores of the Isle of Skye, the Talisker 15 Year Old Special Release, bottled in 2019, represents a rare and captivating expression of this historic distillery's maritime craft. Established in 1830, Talisker has long been celebrated for its 'Made by the Sea' ethos, capturing the tempestuous spirit of its coastal home. This particular 15-year-old expression was matured exclusively in freshly charred American oak hogsheads, a departure from the distillery's traditional refill cask regimen. This unique maturation infuses the classic Talisker profile—famous for its peat smoke, brine, and fiery black pepper—with an unexpected, deep sweetness of vanilla, spice, and toasted oak. Talisker blev grundlagt i 1830 af brødrene Hugh og Kenneth MacAskill ved de vindblæste bredder af Loch Harport i Carbost og er det ældste aktive destilleri på Isle of Skye.
