Hailing from the rugged, wind-swept shores of the Isle of Skye, Talisker is defined by its fierce connection to the sea. The Wild Blue Atlantic Coastal Wine Casks edition represents a harmonious marriage between the distillery's signature maritime peat smoke and the refined influence of wine casks sourced from Atlantic-facing coastal vineyards. Historically, Skye's dramatic climate has shaped Talisker's robust spirit, which is distilled in unique wash stills and cooled in traditional wooden worm tubs to retain its oily, full-bodied character. By finishing this single malt in coastal wine casks, the whisky integrates bright, sun-ripened fruit notes and a delicate vinous sweetness with its classic elements of cracked black pepper, brine, and bonfire smoke, capturing the untamed essence of the Atlantic coastline.

Talisker troner på de rå kyster ved Loch Harport på Minginish-halvøen på Isle of Skye og er øens ældste aktive single malt-destilleri. Destilleriet blev grundlagt i 1830 af brødrene Hugh og Kenneth MacAskill og har gennemlevet både brande, isolation og skiftende tider i whiskybranchen, alt imens det har fastholdt sin kompromisløse, maritime identitet. Mikroklimaet er udpræget hebridisk, formet af nådesløse kystvinde, saltholdig havluft og blødt, tørveholdigt kildevand fra Cnoc nan Speireag. Selve destillationsapparatet er helt unikt opbygget: Fem pot stills i kobber med karakteristiske U-formede svanehalse og udendørs worm tubs i træ sikrer rigelig kobberkontakt og udskillelse af svovlforbindelser, samtidig med at det giver en fyldig, muskuløs krop. Kombinationen af mellemrøget bygmalt og denne særlige kedelgeometri skaber Taliskers umiskendelige signatur med noter af saltet havgus, knust sort peber, tørret frugt og en varmende røgtone.
