✨ Technical Specifications
Distilled in 1977 and matured for 35 years before its limited release, this exceptional Talisker single malt is a monument to the rugged beauty of the Isle of Skye. Born from the distillery's unique five-still configuration and cooled in traditional wooden worm tubs, the spirit captures the untamed maritime essence of its coastal home. Over three and a half decades of quiet maturation in refill American and European oak casks, the fierce, peppery youth of the spirit has evolved into an incredibly complex tapestry of rich dried fruits, old leather, sea salt, and a gentle, warming peat smoke. It stands as a testament to the MacAskill brothers' legacy, who founded the distillery in 1830 despite the protests of local clergy, cementing Talisker's place in Scotch whisky lore.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in 1830 by brothers Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill on the windswept shores of Loch Harport in Carbost, Talisker is the oldest operating distillery on the Isle of Skye. The distillery is celebrated for its unique distillation setup, featuring swan-neck wash stills and traditional outdoor worm tubs, which impart a signature maritime and volcanic intensity to the new-make spirit. Today part of Diageo's Classic Malts portfolio, Talisker maintains an uncompromising dedication to crafting robust, peated single malt Scotch whiskies. Its flagship style is revered across the globe for its harmonious interplay of coastal salinity, rich peat smoke, dried fruit richness, and an unmistakable fiery black pepper finish.
