✨ Technical Specifications
Distilled in 1976 and bottled in 2022 as part of Diageo's prestigious Prima & Ultima Fourth Release, this legendary 46-year-old single malt is the oldest expression ever released from the historic Talisker Distillery on the Isle of Skye. Curated by Master Blender Emma Walker, this exceptionally rare whisky was drawn from a single experimental cask that survived decades of maturation in the damp, wind-swept warehouses of Carbost. Over forty-six years of coastal aging have beautifully tamed Talisker's signature fiery, peppery smoke, transforming it into a sublime tapestry of maritime brine, old leather, dried exotic fruits, and a delicate, lingering peat. It stands as a historic monument to the distillery's traditional craftsmanship and the transformative power of time.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in 1830 by brothers Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill on the windswept shores of Loch Harport in Carbost, Talisker is the oldest operating distillery on the Isle of Skye. The distillery is celebrated for its unique distillation setup, featuring swan-neck wash stills and traditional outdoor worm tubs, which impart a signature maritime and volcanic intensity to the new-make spirit. Today part of Diageo's Classic Malts portfolio, Talisker maintains an uncompromising dedication to crafting robust, peated single malt Scotch whiskies. Its flagship style is revered across the globe for its harmonious interplay of coastal salinity, rich peat smoke, dried fruit richness, and an unmistakable fiery black pepper finish.
