Hailing from the sun-drenched Bugeac Steppe in the autonomous region of Gagauzia, Moldova, the Gagauz Merlot by Tomai-Vineex is a tribute to the unique cultural heritage of the Gagauz people—an Orthodox Christian, Turkic-speaking group with a deep-seated passion for viticulture. The warm, southern climate of Gagauzia provides an ideal terroir for the Merlot grape, allowing it to achieve optimal ripeness with rich fruit expressions. Historically, winemaking in the village of Tomai dates back to 1903, and this wine carries forward that legacy. Crafted using a blend of traditional practices and modern technology, this Merlot is celebrated for its smooth, approachable character, showcasing lush red fruit flavors, soft tannins, and a gentle touch of oak that reflects the region's classic winemaking style.

Det historiske moldoviske vinhus Tomai (Tomai-Vinex) blev grundlagt i 1903 og har hjemme i landsbyen Tomai i den solbeskinnede sydlige region Gagauzien. Med over et århundredes vinmagerarv i ryggen forener ejendommen stolte vindyrkningstraditioner med moderne vinifikation for at indfange den gavmilde varme og det frugtbare terroir i det sydlige Moldova.
