The historic vineyard, first planted in 1868 by pioneer Hamilton Crabb, is famed for its well-drained gravelly soils and ideal microclimate, producing Cabernet of unmatched power and sophistication. The tongue-in-cheek name 'BFD' (colloquially referencing a 'Big F***ing Deal') reflects the winemaking team's excitement when identifying these standout barrels during blending. Crafted by winemaker Jeff Ames with minimal intervention, native yeast fermentations, and bottled unfined and unfiltered, this wine captures the opulent dark fruit, exquisite mineral tension, and muscular yet velvety tannins that have made To Kalon world-famous.

TOR Wines er et eksklusivt vinhus i St. Helena i Californien, grundlagt i 2001 af Napa Valley-veteranen Tor Kenward og hans hustru Susan.
