The 'Medalla' range was originally created in 1983 to celebrate the centenary of Trapiche, marking a historic milestone as one of Argentina's first premium, wood-aged collections. Crafted from select high-altitude vineyards in Mendoza's premier growing regions, this Chardonnay beautifully showcases the dramatic diurnal temperature shifts of the Andes. The grapes undergo fermentation and aging in French oak barrels with regular lees stirring (bâtonnage), a process that imparts a rich, creamy texture and complex notes of toasted brioche, vanilla, and hazelnut. This structure is elegantly balanced by vibrant natural acidity and bright tropical fruit flavors of mango, red apple, and citrus, reflecting a sophisticated harmony between New World fruit intensity and classic Burgundian-style winemaking techniques.

Established in 1883 by Tiburcio Benegas, Bodega Trapiche stands as one of the historic pillars of Argentine viticulture. Located in Coquimbito, Maipú, within a meticulously restored 1912 Florentine-style bodega, the estate balances immense production scale with nuanced terroir exploration. Under the ownership of Grupo Peñaflor and winemaking direction of Sergio Casé, Trapiche orchestrates fruit from over 1,000 hectares of estate vineyards alongside long-term grower partnerships. Holdings span high-altitude alluvial terraces in the Uco Valley, classic Primera Zona terroirs, and pioneering cool-climate oceanic sites in Chapadmalal on the Atlantic coast. Viticulture emphasizes environmental sustainability, complemented by certified biodynamic estate parcels.
