Trapiche's Pinot Noir from Mendoza represents a fascinating intersection of Burgundian elegance and high-altitude Andean terroir. While Mendoza is globally synonymous with robust Malbec, pioneering producers like Trapiche sought out the cooler, high-elevation microclimates of the Uco Valley to cultivate the notoriously finicky Pinot Noir. In these elevated vineyards, the dramatic diurnal temperature shifts and intense alpine sunlight allow the grape to develop its signature red fruit aromatics and delicate structure while retaining a vibrant, refreshing acidity. The wine is typically crafted using gentle extraction techniques and aged partially in oak to impart subtle spice and structure without overwhelming the grape's natural elegance, resulting in a bright, expressive wine filled with notes of wild strawberries, cherries, and soft earthy undertones.
