Clos Sainte Hune is widely regarded by critics and collectors as one of the absolute pinnacles of dry Riesling globally. This legendary 1.67-hectare monopole has been in the Trimbach family for over two hundred years and is situated within the Rosacker Grand Cru in the village of Hunawihr. Despite its Grand Cru status, Trimbach proudly omits the classification from the label, relying instead on the historic prestige of the Clos itself. The vineyard's unique terroir is characterized by Muschelkalk, a yellow limestone rich in marine fossils, which imparts a signature, laser-sharp minerality and profound structural tension to the wine. Vinified in a bone-dry style without malolactic fermentation, it undergoes gentle aging in neutral casks and stainless steel, followed by several years of bottle maturation in Trimbach's cellars before release. The result is an incredibly precise, crystalline expression of Riesling that evolves beautifully over decades.
