Tyrrell's 8 Acres Shiraz is sourced from a historic vineyard block planted in 1892 by Edward Tyrrell, situated immediately adjacent to the legendary 4 Acres vineyard in the Pokolbin sub-region of the Hunter Valley. These ancient, dry-grown, own-rooted vines thrive in the region's deep red volcanic clay soils. The wine is a testament to traditional Hunter Valley winemaking, typically fermented in open-top vats and matured in large, old French oak casks to allow the unique terroir and delicate fruit character to shine without being overshadowed by new wood. It represents a classic, medium-bodied style of Australian Shiraz, defined by savory complexity, bright red fruits, white pepper, and seamless, earthy tannins.

Established in 1858 by English immigrant Edward Tyrrell, Tyrrell's is one of Australia's oldest and most prestigious family-owned wineries, located in the historic Pokolbin sub-region of the Hunter Valley, New South Wales.
