The 'NVC' moniker pays homage to the 'New Vintage Club,' an initiative started by the legendary Murray Tyrrell in the 1970s to share the winery's finest creations directly with passionate enthusiasts. Sourced from premium, dry-grown estate vineyards nestled in the volcanic red clay soils of the Pokolbin sub-region, this wine represents the traditional Hunter Valley style. It is fermented in open-top vats and matured in large, older French oak casks to emphasize the bright, savory fruit profile rather than dominant oak wood. The result is a medium-bodied, elegant red defined by vibrant red berry fruits, subtle gamey undertones, soft tannins, and the signature Hunter Valley white pepper and earthy complexity.
