The Special Release Pinot Noir is a tribute to this long-standing relationship, crafted in small, limited-run batches to highlight specific parcel expressions and experimental techniques. Sourced from select blocks, the wine is fermented in open-top vats and matured in seasoned French oak to preserve its delicate, perfume-driven profile. Established in 1858 by English immigrant Edward Tyrrell, Tyrrell's is one of Australia's founding wine dynasties and a cornerstone member of Australia's First Families of Wine. Nestled beneath the Brokenback Range in the Pokolbin subdistrict of the Hunter Valley, the estate oversees some of the world's rarest own-rooted heritage vineyards, notably the Sacred Sites planted as early as 1867 and 1879. Viticulture focuses on sustainable stewardship over ancient alluvial flats and weathered clay loams under a warm, maritime-influenced sub-tropical microclimate.
