Valbuena 5.° represents the purest expression of Vega Sicilia's terroir, named for the meticulous five-year aging process it undergoes before release. Primarily crafted from Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) blended with a small proportion of Merlot, this wine showcases the dramatic continental climate and limestone-rich soils of the Duero River valley. Unlike its sibling 'Unico', Valbuena offers a more immediate, fruit-forward window into the estate's legendary complexity, though it sacrifices none of the structure or elegance. Vega Sicilia blev grundlagt i 1864 af Don Eloy Lecanda y Chaves i Valbuena de Duero i den spanske region Ribera del Duero og regnes i dag blandt verdens absolut mest legendariske og ærefrygtindgydende vinhuse.
