Maison Verget's Tête de Cuvée represents the pioneering spirit of Jean-Marie Guffens, who revolutionized the Mâconnais region of Burgundy by demonstrating that its terroir could yield white wines of immense precision and energy. Crafted from 100% Chardonnay, this cuvée utilizes only the 'tête de cuvée'—the very first, highest-quality free-run juice obtained from gentle pneumatic pressing. By avoiding the coarser press fractions, Verget coaxes an incredibly pure, mineral-driven expression from the limestone-rich soils of southern Burgundy. Fermented and aged primarily in temperature-controlled vats with minimal oak influence, the wine preserves its vibrant core of green apple, citrus zest, and stony minerality, standing as a testament to Guffens' belief that meticulous winemaking can elevate everyday appellations to rival the prestigious crus of the Côte d'Or.

Maison Verget blev grundlagt i 1990 af den visionære belgiske vinmager Jean-Marie Guffens og hans hustru Maine Heynen i Sologny, beliggende i Mâconnais i det sydlige Bourgogne. Som en banebrydende négociant-éleveur revolutionerede huset vinproduktionen i Bourgogne med sine kompromisløse standarder for drueudvælgelse, skånsom horisontal presning samt præcis lagring på det fine bundfald med minimal brug af nyt egetræ.
