Veuve Clicquot's Rare Vintage Rosé represents the pinnacle of the house's library releases, showcasing the extraordinary aging potential of Pinot Noir-dominant Champagne. Madame Clicquot herself revolutionized the region in 1818 by creating the first known blended Rosé Champagne, breaking from the traditional method of using elderberry colorants. This cuvée honors that legacy. Sourced from prestigious Grand and Premier Cru vineyards, the blend is anchored by Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims and the Grande Vallée de la Marne, complemented by Chardonnay for elegance and Pinot Meunier for roundness. A crucial addition of still red wine, often sourced from legendary Pinot Noir parcels in Bouzy, imparts its deep copper-pink hue and structured red fruit character. These rare bottles undergo extended lees aging in the historic chalk crayères of Reims, resulting in a majestic, highly complex Champagne displaying notes of dried red berries, saffron, and toasted brioche.
