Veuve Clicquot's Rich Reserve is a rare, vintage Sec Champagne that pays homage to the historical 19th-century preference for sweeter sparkling wines, which were famously favored by the Russian Imperial Court and European high society. While modern palates lean toward dry Brut styles, Madame Clicquot's era celebrated 'rich' wines with a higher dosage. Crafted only in exceptional years, this cuvée utilizes a robust backbone of Pinot Noir for structure, complemented by Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. The elevated dosage is beautifully integrated through extensive cellar aging on the lees, resulting in a harmonious Champagne that balances luscious sweetness with vibrant acidity, showcasing mature notes of dried fruits, honey, and toasted brioche.
