Veuve Clicquot Rosé is steeped in a revolutionary history dating back to 1818, when Madame Clicquot—the legendary 'Grande Dame of Champagne'—shattered convention by creating the first known blended rosé Champagne. Dissatisfied with the contemporary practice of coloring Champagne with elderberry-based mixtures, she chose instead to blend her still red wine from the prestigious vineyards of Bouzy with her classic white sparkling base. Today, this iconic cuvée continues to honor her legacy. It is crafted around the house's signature Pinot Noir-dominant blend, which provides structure and strength, balanced by Chardonnay for elegance and Pinot Meunier for roundness. To achieve its vibrant pink hue and expressive red-berry character, a portion of still red Pinot Noir is blended into the traditional base. The result is a Champagne of remarkable intensity, offering aromas of fresh wild strawberries, ripe cherries, and a touch of brioche from extended lees aging in the house's historic chalk cellars.
