The Cuv ee du Vieil Armand Gewurztraminer is a vibrant tribute to the dramatic history and unique terroir of southern Alsace. Named after the historic Hartmannswillerkopf battlefield—known locally as Vieil Armand—this wine is crafted from grapes grown on the sunny foothills where granite, limestone, and silt soils converge. This complex geological mosaic imparts a distinct mineral backbone to the naturally opulent Gewurztraminer grape. Historically, Gewurztraminer has been celebrated in Alsace for its intense, exotic character. The winemakers coax out the grape's signature aromatics of lychee, damask rose, and sweet baking spices through careful temperature-controlled fermentation. The resulting wine is rich, slightly off-dry, and beautifully balanced, capturing both the resilience of the region's history and the expressive warmth of its terroir.
