The Cuvee du Vieil Armand Pinot Gris pays tribute to the rich and poignant history of its birthplace in southern Alsace, situated near the historic Hartmannswillerkopf battlefield, locally known as Vieil-Armand. This wine is a beautiful expression of the region's unique terroir, where the vines benefit from a complex mosaic of soils, including granite, silt, and sandstone. The Pinot Gris grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness to capture the variety's signature richness and complexity. In the cellar, traditional slow fermentation and aging on fine lees yield a wine characterized by an opulent texture, balanced acidity, and a complex aromatic profile featuring ripe stone fruits, subtle honeyed notes, and a touch of characteristic Alsatian smokiness.
