Hailing from the sun-drenched slopes of southern Alsace, the Gewurztraminer Grand Cru from Cave du Vieil-Armand represents the pinnacle of this aromatic noble grape. Sourced primarily from the historic Grand Cru Ollwiller—one of the oldest documented vineyard sites in Alsace, overlooked by its majestic castle—the vines thrive in a unique microclimate protected by the Vosges Mountains. Here, the combination of clay-limestone soils and exceptional sun exposure coaxes optimal ripeness and complex minerality from the grapes. The wine pays homage to the resilient spirit of the region, situated near the historic Hartmannswillerkopf battlefield. In the glass, it unfolds with opulent, exotic aromas of lychee, fresh rose petals, ginger, and sweet baking spices, supported by a rich, textured palate and a long, off-dry finish that perfectly balances power with elegance.

Cave du Vieil-Armand blev grundlagt i 1958 for foden af den historiske Hartmannswillerkopf-høj – kendt på fransk som Vieil Armand – og er et anerkendt kooperativ beliggende i den sydalsassiske landsby Wuenheim. Huset trækker på en enestående mosaik af terroirs, herunder de historiske vinmarker ved Château d'Ollwiller, og samler passionerede lokale vinbønder med en fælles dedikation til autentisk regionalt håndværk og bæredygtig vindyrkning. Vingården er kendt for en alsidig portefølje, der spænder fra klassiske, stille Alsace AOC-enkeltdruevine på eksempelvis Sylvaner og Pinot Gris til elegante Crémants d'Alsace fremstillet efter den traditionelle metode samt frugtbrændevine og likører af høj håndværksmæssig kvalitet – alle præget af en ekspressiv, aromatisk renhed og en flot, spændstig syrebalance.
