Cave du Vieil-Armand's Grand Cru Riesling represents the pinnacle of Alsatian viticulture, deeply rooted in the dramatic history of the southern Alsace region. Sourced from prestigious Grand Cru sites like Ollwiller—one of the few Alsatian Grand Crus associated with a historic castle estate—the vines thrive on sun-drenched, south-facing slopes. The terroir, characterized by complex limestone, clay, and stony soils, imparts a distinct mineral tension to the wine. Historically, these lands have witnessed centuries of conflict, most notably during World War I around the Hartmannswillerkopf (Vieil-Armand) battlefield, yet the resilient vineyards continue to yield wines of exceptional purity. Vinified with minimal intervention to preserve the pristine character of the fruit, this Riesling showcases a brilliant balance of vibrant citrus acidity, white floral aromas, and a deep, stony minerality that evolves beautifully with age.

Cave du Vieil-Armand blev grundlagt i 1958 for foden af den historiske Hartmannswillerkopf-høj – kendt på fransk som Vieil Armand – og er et anerkendt kooperativ beliggende i den sydalsassiske landsby Wuenheim. Huset trækker på en enestående mosaik af terroirs, herunder de historiske vinmarker ved Château d'Ollwiller, og samler passionerede lokale vinbønder med en fælles dedikation til autentisk regionalt håndværk og bæredygtig vindyrkning. Vingården er kendt for en alsidig portefølje, der spænder fra klassiske, stille Alsace AOC-enkeltdruevine på eksempelvis Sylvaner og Pinot Gris til elegante Crémants d'Alsace fremstillet efter den traditionelle metode samt frugtbrændevine og likører af høj håndværksmæssig kvalitet – alle præget af en ekspressiv, aromatisk renhed og en flot, spændstig syrebalance.
