Crafted in the southernmost corner of Alsace, this expressive rosé is born from the unique terroirs surrounding the historic Hartmannswillerkopf battlefield, known locally as Vieil-Armand. In accordance with Alsace appellation laws, this still rosé is made entirely from Pinot Noir grapes, which thrive in the region's complex soils of granite, silt, and sandstone. The grapes undergo a short maceration period to extract a delicate, pale salmon hue and bright red-fruit aromas. The Cave du Vieil-Armand co-op, established in 1959, utilizes gentle pressing and temperature-controlled fermentation to preserve the vibrant acidity, fresh strawberry notes, and subtle mineral undertones that define this refreshing, mountain-influenced style.

Founded in 1958 at the foot of the historic Hartmannswillerkopf hill—known in French as the Vieil Armand—Cave du Vieil-Armand is a distinguished cooperative estate situated in the southern Alsace village of Wuenheim. Drawing upon an extraordinary mosaic of terroirs, including the historic vineyards of Château d'Ollwiller, the estate unites dedicated local winegrowers committed to authentic regional craftsmanship and sustainable viticulture. The winery is renowned for its versatile portfolio spanning classic still Alsace AOC varietals such as Sylvaner and Pinot Gris, elegant traditional-method Crémants d'Alsace, and artisanal fruit brandies and liqueurs, all characterized by their expressive aromatic purity and crisp structural balance.
