🍾 About the Producer
Formed in 1977 as a cooperative union in the Hérault department of the Languedoc, Les Vignerons de la Vicomté unites several local cellars across communes such as Le Pouget, Saint-Pargoire, Puilacher, and Saint-Bauzille-de-la-Sylve. Overseeing more than 7,500 hectares farmed by approximately 1,200 member families, the union harnesses a mosaic of terroirs spanning alluvial valley floors, Villafranchian gravel terraces, and limestone-laden slopes surrounding the historic Viscountcy of Aumelas. Viticulture is strictly oriented toward environmental responsibility, with a major proportion certified Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE level 3), Terra Vitis, or Ecocert organic. Vinification emphasizes early-morning harvests, temperature-controlled pneumatic pressing, and protective inerting to preserve pure varietal aromatics and vibrant natural acidity. Benchmark expressions include the fresh, red-berry-scented Comtesse Rosé, the aromatic Cuvée Authentique range, and focused micro-cuvées celebrating both indigenous southern cépages and resistant modern varieties.
