Their Reserve Syrah is a testament to the unique terroir of Hawke's Bay, particularly the sun-baked, free-draining gravelly soils of the region's ancient riverbeds. This unique topography acts as a thermal blanket, absorbing heat during the day and radiating it at night, allowing the late-ripening Syrah grape to achieve optimal phenolic maturity. Crafted in a style reminiscent of the Northern Rhone, this 100% Syrah is typically aged in French oak barriques to impart structural elegance. The resulting wine is celebrated for its aromatic complexity, blending intense notes of cracked black pepper, dark plums, and fresh violets with a refined, medium-bodied palate.
