The Rüdesheimer Berg Roseneck vineyard derives its poetic name from the wild roses that historically clung to the steep, rocky outcrops of the Rheingau cliffs overlooking the Rhine River. Weingut Leitz's 'Alte Reben' (old vines) bottling is sourced from ancient, deep-rooted vines planted on these precipitous slopes. The terroir here is a dramatic combination of weathered Devonian slate and Taunus quartzite, which absorbs the sun's heat and radiates it back to the grapes. This unique microclimate and soil profile yield a Riesling of intense concentration, marked by a distinct mineral tension, vibrant acidity, and a complex bouquet of stone fruits, citrus, and subtle floral notes. Crafted with meticulous care, this wine showcases the power and elegance that define the region's historic steep-slope viticulture.

Weingut Leitz, located in the historic town of Rüdesheim am Rhein in Germany's Rheingau region, traces its winemaking heritage back to 1744. Under the visionary leadership of Johannes Leitz, who took over the family estate in 1985, the winery has earned international acclaim for its exceptional, terroir-driven Rieslings. The estate meticulously manages some of the Rheingau's most prestigious steep-slope grand cru vineyards, including Rüdesheimer Berg Schlossberg, Berg Rottland, and Berg Roseneck. Renowned for their remarkable purity, vibrant acidity, and deep minerality, Leitz's wines range from bone-dry expressions to luscious, noble sweet Beerenauslese and Trockenbeerenauslese, alongside a pioneering range of premium non-alcoholic wines.
